Yorkshire Water is inviting local residents to an event next week to learn more about the improvement works in Ilkley and ask any questions.
Yorkshire Water announced plans last May to invest around £60m at its wastewater treatment works and storm overflows in Ilkley to reduce storm discharges to the river Wharfe, improving water quality at the designated bathing water in the town.
The new wetland is planned on Denton Road close to Nell Bank.
A spokesperson for Yorkshire Water said:
“We're carrying out work at our local treatment works and will soon be installing a new wetland in Ilkley, to help improve the quality of the river Wharfe. So, we’re hosting an event for residents to come by and find out more.
“At the event, our team will be able to tell you more about the work, why we’re doing it, and explain the benefits of it, as well as answer any questions you may have about the work.”
This session will take place at the Clarke Foley Community Centre on Monday 24 February at 7:15pm.
