Two Rivers Concert Band Winter Concert 2024

Two Rivers Concert Band have announced details of its 2024 Winter Concert on Sunday 8 December, 3pm, at Ilkley Baptist Church on Kings Road.

Under the baton of their musical director, Gregory Moor, the band will transport the audience across time and space with their musically varied programme. This includes festive favourites alongside classical pieces, music from the stage and screen, and a beautiful arrangement of the American folk song “Shenandoah”. There is also a TV Christmas family favourite - can you guess “Who” it is?

A spokesperson for the band said: “Take a break from your Christmas preparations, fire up your TARDIS, and rematerialise in Ilkley to support our great local band.

“Admission includes a programme, plus a festive interval drink and plentiful homemade cakes and mince pies baked by band members.”

There will also be a collection in aid of The Swan Song Project, a small Leeds based charity that gives people planning the end stages of their lives and those surrounding them the opportunity to write and record their own original song. This musical celebration of life brings comfort and joy, leaving a legacy that helps loved-ones as they deal with bereavement.

The band is delighted to have chosen the Swan Song Project as its nominated charity and looks forward to raising funds through its performances over the following year. For more information please visit their website: swansongproject.co.uk/about/

Tickets for the concert on 8 December cost just £10, free for those aged 16 and under, and are available from The Grove Bookshop in Ilkley, on line at www.tworiversbands.org.uk or can also be bought on the door.
