Three nights, three bands for Ilkley’s newest music venue

Starting Friday 24th November, 53 Degrees, Ilkley’s new music venue on Leeds Road, will be hosting three Music Nights to celebrate its official opening and to welcome new faces.

Originally the Commute Coffee House, 53 Degrees has relaunched as a music bar serving outstanding coffee and snacks during the day, and alcoholic beverages, including cocktails, during its new live music evening sessions.

The first gig on Friday will feature local acoustic duo The Sheds who will perform indie/rock covers from all eras with the odd 80s pop classic. The Gatsbys on Friday 8th December will take the listener on a musical journey spanning many genres including country, pop, blues and 90s classics, and the band Man Cave completes the line-up on Saturday 16th December with their mellow original songs and covers.

On all three nights, the entertainment starts at 7.30pm and entry is free.

Co-owner Paul Wintersgill said: “We’re delighted to officially launch our music venue to Ilkley residents and visitors; it’s a new proposition for the town and we’re hoping people get behind the concept. We’ve called it 53 Degrees due to the latitude of the premises which is right in the centre of the thriving Leeds Road business community.

“We’re looking forward to our Music Nights as we believe they offer our customers something special - a chance to listen to some fantastic local musical talent in the intimate setting of this unique venue. The atmosphere is sure to be electric so we recommend you come early to bag your spot.”

The owners Paul Wintersgill, Ben Wilson and Dylan Wilson have big plans for 53 Degrees. They will be expanding their music offering over the next few weeks and providing more opportunities to showcase local bands. It will be a relaxing place to spend time during the day enjoying coffee, cake or a spot of lunch with some mellow music from the iconic jukebox to chill out to, and a vibrant place to be in the evening to meet friends, enjoy a beer and listen to some great music.
