If plans submitted last week to Bradford Council are approved, it would see the demolition of the existing Original Factory Shop building and construction of a new Drive-Through Coffee Shop.

Changes to the site on the corner of the A65 and Wheatley Lane in Ben Rhydding would also see the installing of four EV charging bays and associated parking spaces.

The planning application says: "The site would be operated by the EG Group, an international leading forecourt operator who are well known for their investment in petrol stations and roadside coffee shops/retail stores.

"The existing access arrangements for the site are to be retained and the proposed development would provide services principally for passing traffic on the A65 trunk road, allowing customers to purchase refreshments before continuing with their journeys.

“It is the applicant’s intention to redevelop the site creating a more attractive and appealing place for customers to visit and deliver a new, high-quality development, which is designed to modern standards and seeks to contribute to the site’s prominent position on the strategic highway network in Ilkley whilst respecting the surroundings and surrounding businesses."
