The hoardings around the fountain at the bottom of Mill Ghyll in Ilkley were removed this week, revealing the new gravity-fed fountain inspired by the sphagnum moss that grows on Ilkley Moor.

Designed by Juliet and Jamie Gutch and created by James Wilkinson, Local building contractor Dakin Developments Ltd have worked with the charity Improving Ilkley on the project.

The official opening will take place at 11am on Wednesday 30th April by Alan Titchmarsh.

Louise Hepworth-Wood from Improving Ilkley said:

"The hoardings have now been removed and over the next few days, we will be installing the name plates, planting some bulbs and having a general tidy up of the area before running the water.

"The official opening will be in April, however over the next two weeks you will have the opportunity to meet us all early one evening to answer any questions, with the date announced shortly."
