The newly erected banner on the former Barnardo’s charity shop in the Moors Shopping Centre in Ilkley reveals the name of the fish and chip restaurant and takeaway as ‘Ilkley Plaice’.
Ilkley Chat understands the business will operate 7 days a week offering takeaway and eat-in for 28 covers, with a further 12 outside. An extended gourmet menu in planned for the restaurant at certain times.
A spokesperson for Ilkley Plaice said: “We will be offering gluten free, dairy free, vegetarian and vegan food options and we will be using vegetable oil to fry the food.
“The menu will consist of all the favourites and also offer items like grilled king prawns and fried haloumi.
“Customers will be able to use an online click & collect service and we will offer a delivery service to the surrounding area.”
More information is expected in the next few weeks ahead of the planned opening of the takeaway around 7 May, with the restaurant opening late in the month.
The website will go live before the end of April at www.ilkleyplaice.co.uk
