MP quizzed by Ashlands Primary School Pupils

Ilkley MP Robbie Moore has visited Ashlands Primary School to meet with staff at the school and take part in a Question and Answer session with year 5’s.

Mr Moore met with a group of pupils in Mrs Pearson’s History class, who are learning about the Ancient Greeks and ancient Athenian Democracy.

Speaking about his role as a Member of Parliament and outlining his local priorities for Ilkley and the wider area, the MP praised local students for their insightful questions.

Mr Moore regularly visits school groups across his constituency to talk about his role as an MP alongside how democracy works at both a local and national level.

Commenting on the visit, Robbie Moore MP said:

“It was a privilege to visit Ashlands Primary School and spend time with year 5s to talk about life as a Member of Parliament and the importance of our Parliamentary democracy. As always, there were some really thought-provoking questions, and it was so great to see such enthusiasm about improving Ilkley from the group.

"Ashlands Primary is a beautiful school, with a great team of team of teachers and staff. It is so important that elected representatives hear from everyone, including our young people, about what matters to most to them - for me, it's one of the best parts of the job!”
