The Ilkley Vintage Fair returns to Ilkley Playhouse on Easter Saturday, promising a retro eggs-travaganza for fans of pre-loved, sustainable classics.
Doors open at 10am, with 20 stalls selling all kinds of vintage clothing for women and men, homeware, vinyl, kitchenware, furniture, toys and many more retro items.
Whether you are looking for a new spring wardrobe or want to create the perfect retro space in your home, vintage is the answer according to organiser Jill Coulson of Burley-in-Wharfedale business Alfie Robot Retro: “’Vintage’ generally refers to items produced between the 1920s and 1980s,” says Jill, “it was a time when goods were built to last, which is why so many people prefer to buy a great quality pre-loved item than a new version that might fall apart within months. With the cost of new items rising at a rapid rate, and people really wanting to cut down on waste, buying vintage is the perfect alternative.”
When asked what shoppers can expect on the day, Jill says “there will be so much variety on offer. From Biba dresses to Hornsea Pottery, a wealth of vinyl records to framed vintage prints. We make sure we cater for all tastes and all budgets.”
Making their debut at the Ilkley Playhouse Vintage Fair is Alli Marsay from Moon Muse. She describes herself as a textile designer by trade, who loves bright colours and fun patterns. Stocking clothes spanning the 1940s to the 1980s, shoes and accessories, and specialising in items from the 60s and 70s.
“I can't wait for my first Ilkley Vintage Fair,” says Alli, “I'm looking forward to chatting to new customers and showing my treasures. I'll also be bringing along some funky homeware items too!”
Ilkley Vintage Fair takes place at Ilkley Playhouse on Saturday 8th April. Doors are open from 10am until 4pm and entry is £1 per person (under 16s are free).
