Ilkley Great Get Together have thanked Ilkley for its donations for this year’s Easter food parcels.
Becky Maltby from IGGT said:
“When we started this 4 years ago we didn't anticipate the need lasting so long, and we are hugely grateful to everyone that continues to contribute.”

One of the families said:
"Thanks for all you do In supporting families who are struggling, everyone appreciates it more than you could ever know. Hope you have a lovely Easter”
Becky continued:
“This year we provided parcels for 90 families, but a couple of weeks ago we thought we wouldn't have enough food. The foodbank has found it harder to meet everyone's needs, and had less food than previous years, and so we did a shout out to Ilkley for pasta, tuna and porridge as well as the usual Easter chocolates.
"We were amazed that the Ilkley community rallied so quickly and provided enough for 2 packets of pasta, 3 tins of Tuna and a bag of porridge for every family, as well as an Easter Egg for every child, and some amazing homemade biscuits.
"Thank you to the Clevedon Knitters, The Ilkley Sewain Scrubs, and the Soroptimists for cure knitted chicks; to Ben Rhydding Primary for their Easter Baking competition with stunning cakes donated to the parcels; to Sacred Heart for their annual biscuit bake; to Ilkley Wharfedale Rotary and Round Table, as well as kind individuals for emptying pockets and donating cash to this year’s provision which meant we could buy veg as well as topping up any shortages.
“Thank you Hovis for donating 91 loaves of bread, and Mike Girling from Speedbake for both providing 100 packets of lovely muffins but also helping is lug all the veg around!
“Thank you to all of you that baked and shopped, and of course a huge thank you to the schools for coordinating, particularly IGS for hosting the packing, and to the brilliant volunteer team for collecting food, sorting, packing and delivering parcels to our families.
“Well done all.”
