Ilkley based promoters Village Pavilion have been awarded funding to deliver four music events in Ilkley this year, in the latest round of Arts, Culture and Heritage Grants from Bradford Council.
Following the success of Village Pavilion's show last September with Scottish folk music legend Alasdair Roberts, tickets are now on sale for their first show of the year supported by the council grant. Playing upstairs at the Ilkley Moor Vaults on Bank Holiday Monday 6th May, will be a full band show from Toronto based singer songwriter Marker Starling.
A frequent live guest on Mark Riley's BBC 6 music show, Marker Starling will be bringing his melancholic pop to Ilkley as part of his European tour, with support from multi-instrumentalist Eliza Niemi. Village Pavilion are very happy to be able to offer such a fantastic international artist as their first 2024 show and thanks to the Bradford council grant, tickets are priced at only £5 - available via Eventbrite.
The Bradford council grants panel were excited to see a wide variety of applications that were presented for the latest round of grants funding. The breadth of project applications truly demonstrates the desire to make incredible things happen across Bradford district. 41 project applications were reviewed and from these, eight applications have been awarded the total sum of £50,000.
Cllr Sarah Ferriby, Bradford Council’s Executive Member for Healthy People and Places, said: “Bradford is a vibrant district, full of creativity. It’s incredible to see the growth and breadth of applications that are coming forward that will deliver, unique cultural and heritage activities."
Expect further announcements from Village Pavilion towards the end of April and keep an eye out for their Folklore themed show at the Manor House in October.
