Heritage Open Days events in Ilkley

Ilkley Manor House is taking part in the Heritage Open Days Festival

Events will be taking place in Ilkley as part of the national Heritage Open Days festival between 6 and 15 September.


Heritage Open Days is England’s largest festival of history and culture with over 5,000 events taking place across the country.


Events across Ilkley include:


Saturday/Sunday 7/8 & 14/15 September 11am-4pm: Ilkley Manor House 

Explore Ilkley's Roman history with family-friendly activities and tours. Create a paper Roman road to take home, transform into a centurion with dress-up fun, and design a Roman shield. Join expert John Cockshott on walks around the Roman fort


Thursday 12 September 2pm: Ilkley Blue Plaques Guide Launch & Walk

At Ilkley Railway Station, Ilkley Civic Society is launching a Guide to Ilkley’s Blue Plaques at 2pm. The Guide includes a map for self-guiding.  The launch will be followed by a 90 minute walk to see some of the Blue Plaques. Registration for the walk is via localhistory@civicsociety.ilkley.org The Guide will be available afterwards at the Visitor Information Centre, Ilkley Library, Ilkley Manor House and some shops.


Saturday 14 September 11am and 1pm: Ilkley All Saints Church 

Guided Tours by Heritage Manager.
