Five members of Ilkley and District Pétanque Association played in their first competition this week, winning 4 out of 6 games.
The competition was played at Heckmondwike Pétanque club against Ripponden , Shelley and Kirkburton pétanque clubs
A spokesperson said: “This wasn’t enough to lift the trophy so more practice needed.
“Anyone interested in learning how to play feel free to come along to any of the sessions which are 10am on Thursday and Saturday, and 6pm on Tuesdays. No equipment is needed."

Ilkley’s Pétanque terrain open at the start of 2022 and is in the Ilkley Riverside Memorial Gardens close to the Riverside Hotel.
