As the countdown begins to the fifth event, organisers of the Ilkley Food & Drink Festival announced the dates for 2024, 15th and 16th June, with thousands expect to return to East Holmes Field.

Having attracted a record number of attendees the past four years, the popular Food & Drink Festival has become a staple in the local community calendar and is set to return to its stunning riverside location.

Event Director Michael Johnston expressed his anticipation for this milestone event, stating, “We’re really excited to be returning to Ilkley for our 5th anniversary. Each year our event grows, and along with it the sense of community we create.”

Highlighting culinary diversity, the festival’s renowned Street Food Arena promises a gastronomic journey through cuisines from around the world; from mouth watering tacos to flavourful bao buns and succulent pulled pork, the festival caters to all tastes and preferences.

Beyond the delectable delights, the festival hosts a plethora of entertainment options including a Live Music Stage, a Cookery Theatre in partnership with Yorkshire Food Guide, a Live Entertainers Stage, Kids Activities, Roaming Comedy, a Funfair & Inflatable Land, and more. The wide range of attractions provides insight to the region’s local talent, whilst ensuring there’s amusement for everyone.

“At our festivals we commit ourselves to providing weekend-long entertainment. After last year's success of the tribute acts, we’re really looking forward to announcing more this year. Hearing such iconic songs played live provided an atmosphere we can’t wait to recreate” commented, Michael Johnston, the Festival director.

Exploring the Artisan Markets offers an opportunity to discover over 80 different market traders. Showcasing local produce, fresh baked goods, and home-made crafts, this marketplace provides a sensory experience that ensures there’s something to take home for everyone.

Thirsty Festival goers can indulge in a wide selection of beverages at the festival’s independent bars, featuring specialty ciders, rum, gin, and wines. For the beer lovers,  there’s a range of IPAs, lagers and popular cask favourites available at the Full Ale House.

Nikki Orrell, Festival Manager said: “We’re incredibly fortunate to host our festival in such a beautiful location with the Cow & Calf rocks overseeing us. Every year we attract new visitors from across the country”

Each year the festival aims to connect friends and family of all ages and cultures for a weekend of celebration and fun. In addition to fostering community spirit, the festival will partner with Bradford-based charity Bradford Mind. Having raised over £100,000 in previous years, the event continues to try to raise awareness and support for local mental health charities.
