Christmas comes to Ilkley this weekend

Ilkley is gearing up to welcome Father Christmas in style on Saturday (26th November), after a three-year absence.

A full day of festivities is planned for this coming Saturday, culminating in the switch on of the Christmas lights by Father Christmas at 5pm at Christchurch.

Bradford Markets will host a Christmas market on The Grove from 10am. The market will feature 30 stalls selling seasonal produce and ideal Christmas gifts along with street food and hot drinks.

Enjoy a cup of mulled wine from Betty’s whilst browsing the stalls in search of Christmas goodies.

Seasonal music on the Bandstand provided by Guiseley Brass Band and Hot Aire will help to put you in a festive mood.

The build up to the arrival of Father Christmas begins at 3.30pm with Rombalds Radio acting as master of ceremonies, hosting a programme of street entertainment performed by local community groups.

Families are invited to join Santa’s Carriage procession which will assemble in the Memorial Gardens in readiness for departure at 4.35pm, prompt.

The Mayor will greet Father Christmas on his arrival at Christchurch and invite him to conduct the countdown to the switch on of the lights at 5.00pm. Children may then visit Santa in his Grotto in Christchurch.

Ilkley Town Council invites you to come along and enjoy the fun.
