Every spare corner in Christchurch on The Grove in Ilkley is stacked with completed jigsaws in readiness for the 9th annual Jigsaw Festival which runs from Thursday 26th to Saturday 28th October.
What began as a trial event has developed into a major year-round exercise which has raised thousands of pounds for a number of charities and attracts dissectologists, i.e. people who love puzzles, from far and wide.
Throughout the past year, jigsaws have been arriving at Christchurch from enthusiasts in and around the Ilkley. Some come complete, demonstrating they are no pieces missing, and ready for sale. Other jigsaws arrive boxed and waiting to be done. There is now a Jigsaw Club every Friday night to which anyone is welcome.
Christchurch will share the 2023 festival proceeds with Christians Against Poverty, Homeless Hampers and Action for Children, the latter being a cause particularly close to it's heart as one of the charities supported by its first jigsaw festival.
Every jigsaw is available to buy, so come prepared to be tempted by the modest prices.
The Jigsaw Festival is open 10am until 4pm and admission is free.
The Christchurch Cafe will be open for the duration of the festival, offering snacks, drinks and meals.
