Ever dreamed of gliding through the water like a mermaid? Or dancing to the infectious rhythms of Bollywood? Now’s your chance!
Ilkley residents are being offered the chance to take part in an exciting water dance performance at Ilkley Lido as part of the Bradford 2025 UK City of Culture Celebrations.
‘Hollywood Meets Bollywood’ is a splashing community dance fusion project which will take place at the Lido on 12th July.
The project is a collaboration between Zoobin Surty Company and Yorkshire Life Aquatic, who say:
“This unique synchronised swimming-inspired showcase will blend Bollywood beats with Hollywood glamour, featuring a troupe of Bollywood dancers performing poolside to a vibrant soundtrack!
“No synchronised swimming experience needed, just confidence in the water and a willingness to embrace the cool waters of Ilkley Lido!”
There will be 8 free fun rehearsal swim sessions, Thursday evenings from 22nd May, that teach simple dance and synchronised swimming moves. The final performance is on 12th July at 6pm at Ilkley Lido.
