Addingham's Nursery Rhymes and Jabberwocky Club has received national recognition this week as two of its staff members were celebrated at a Local Childcare Champions reception held at 10 Downing Street.
Nominated by local MP Robbie Moore, nursery Owner Andrea Parker and nursery Manager Rachael Martin made the trip down to Westminster for the event, where they received a tour of Parliament from Mr Moore before making their way to Downing Street
The event was hosted by Minister for Children, Families, and Wellbeing, David Johnston OBE MP, and brought together childcare providers from across the UK to recognise their invaluable contributions to supporting families and children.
Robbie Moore MP said: "With over 120 years of combined experience in early years education, Andrea Parker, Rachael Martin, and the entire team at Nursery Rhymes Nursery exemplify the best of our local childcare sector.
Nursery Rhymes nursery has provided exceptional care to children and families in Addingham and surrounds since their establishment in 2001 and it really was a pleasure to see Andrea and Rachael celebrated alongside fantastic childcare organisations from right across the UK.
It's always fantastic to see local residents making positive news in the national headlines and I pay tribute to all of our brilliant childcare providers across our area."
Minister for Children, Families and Wellbeing, David Johnston OBE MP said: "It was great to be able to say thank you to some of our fantastic early years workforce, who do so much to help give every child the best start in life and support parents to work. This Government is making the single biggest investment that's ever been made in childcare and we're delighted that the attendees yesterday have already helped us provide more than 200,000 people with the first 15 hours of funded childcare for their 2-year-olds."
