Plans to install a changing places toilet in Ilkley have been submitted by Bradford Council.
The facility is planned to the left of the existing public toilet block in South Hawkesworth car park.
The facility will be paid for by Bradford Council and Ilkley Town Council will be responsible for cleaning and maintaining it.
In December, Ilkley Town Council voted to support the new facility and campaigners the LS29 Special Needs Group said at the time: “It’s great news for accessible Ilkley, tourists, residents young and old who need extra facilities and visitors to the many events Ilkley puts on.”
Ilkley Mayor, Cllr Karl Milner said: "This facility will open up the town centre for many more people to visit. I am really looking forward to its arriving and to continuing our work to improve the back Grove area."
The facility would offer a range of accessibility aids, including a ceiling hoist and track and height adjustable adult changing bench, as well as an electric shower. It will also have a Safe and Sound system within the pod, allowing a person in distress to call for support via a pull cord.
