The annual Charity Christmas Fayre, now in its 26th year, will be taking place on Saturday 25th November from 11am to 1pm at the Clarke Foley Centre on Cunliffe Road in Ilkley.

Pam Ravenscroft, chair of Ilkley Friends of Martin House Hospice who organised the fair, told Ilkley Chat: “Fourteen charities are taking part and, as a sponsor covers the cost of the room hire, all the money raised at the event goes to the charities involved.

“There will be a good variety of stalls offering Christmas gifts, cards and decorations, raffles, tombolas, craft items, games, bric a brac and a host of other festive goodies. Admission is free and you can get a cup of tea or coffee and a mince pie for £1!

“The Fayre will be opened at 11am by Ilkley Town Crier Isabel Ashman and the friendly Marty Bear Martin House mascot!

“Please come along and support your local charities.”

Saturday 25th is also the day Ilkley's Christmas Lights are switched on, with a market on The Grove in the afternoon and the music and entertainment starting after 3, building to Santa's arrival and the switch on at 5pm, all hosted by Rombalds Radio.
